Description-Myrtle Beach

As we walk onto the beach we can feel the hot grainy sand on our feet.  It burns so we walk quickly to find a spot to put our stuff down.  Everyone runs into the water but i hang back fo a minute.  I take a seat on my colorful flowery towel and try to take everything in.  The sun feels warm on my skin, but its a good feeling, not too hot.  There is a volleyball game going on a little ways down the beach.  I see children playing with their shovels and buckets and remember back to the days when I used to build sand castles and dig holes.  There is a woman pushing a cart along the shore and asking who wants lemonade.  A blimp flies through the clear blue sky with an advertisement for a local store.  As I look out onto the ocean I see blue water, not like the dark colored ocean that we have in New York.  I decide its about time to go into the water.  I get up and realize that my feet are no longer burning because they have become adjusted to the heat.  As I walk down to the shore I can smell the salt water and feel the wind on my face which makes my hair blow.  Used to frigid New York water I slowly put my feet in the water and I am very relieved to notice that my feet are not going numb from the cold but feel refreshed from the water.  I watch the waves roll in and carefully make my way out so the waves don’t crash on me.  Being in the refreshing water, bouncing up and down with the waves, makes me feel so calm and relaxed.

  1. This is a really nice description! I could picture the water and beach. It made me miss summer time! I liked how you included all the different senses to really describe what was going on.
